Many of these artworks depict the artist’s close affinity with and interpretation of his environment and local landscapes.

The images are inspired by the light, forms and colours of the Pays Cathare in the Languedoc region of southwest France, reflecting the vistas of the Malepère massif in the rolling foothills of the Pyrennees, as well as the spirit and character of the hill-top Occitan villages where he lived.
